Trek Y-Foil 66

Trek Y Foil 66

This bike was only produced for two years by Trek. It was originally designed for the professional road cycling industry. But as soon as it came out it was ruled illegal for road cycling races. A rule was made stating that all road cycling bikes were required to have down tubes, which this bike clearly does not have. I understand Trek tried to push these towards the triathlon scene but triathletes didn't seem to care too much for this bike since the mechanics of the bike were not really designed for the triathlon cycling position (i.e. aero position). Trek didn't have much choice but to discontine production of these bikes.

I came across this bike from a friend who had purchased it new and had also upgraded some components. It had very low miles and was in excellent condition. My friend was more into the mountain biking than road cycling. I could not pass the good deal I was being offered on this bike so I bought it as an upgrade to my diamond back Expert.

This bike has carried me through several years of triathlons.
